Soft Power

28 January 2026

Architects love raw materials. We do too. But a room full of hard edges needs a little softness and a lot of personality to counter the cold start. Our suggestion is to use upholstery to give a room a pulse. A shift in perspective that moves the focus back onto the human.
This is design for the real world, moving beyond magazine glossies and gallery pretension to create spaces where people actually want to hang out.

By specifying pieces with big shapes and honest textures, you change how a space feels and how people interact within it. Alongside this, the floor is another great opportunity to add personality and soften the space, both visually and acoustically. deadgoodrugs act as shock absorbers, stopping vibration and excess noise.

Any size, any shape, any colour. It's your call.

Mass matters. Introduce denser, fully upholstered characters like Bean Around, Noodle, or Jelly to introduce some soft power. They provide a direct opportunity to counter the raw materials of a project, softening the edges of a room through form and fabric.
