Deadgood vs. Mr. Jago
We recently unveiled the results of an exclusive
new collaboration with Bristol based urban artist
Mr. Jago, in which he has applied his pioneering
‘doodle’ style of illustration to our award winning
Form: Stool. The series of hand painted
products was recently unveiled at own regional
design exhibition ‘Launch’, alongside a one off
installation by the artist himself.
We are currently working closely with Mr. Jago
to develop his drawings into a digital format and
create a limited edition collection of furniture.
We're hoping that this unique project will form
the basis of a series of collaborations with some
of the world’s leading urban artists.
Mr. Jago is considered by many as a veteran of
the urban art and design scene, having worked
with some of the biggest international brands
around including Nike, Puma and Sprite. In the
last six years his signature scrawl has graced
everything from clothing to skateboards and his
work is something of a permanent landmark on
the shop fronts of Bristol. His distinctive
freehand style and superb eye for colour have
helped him gain international respect among his
contemporaries, where he has earned the right
to be talked about in the same breath as some
of his own heroes.
Elliot comments, “The relationship between the
art and design worlds really interests us, not
only do we have a personal interest in this style
of graphic art but we’re also interested in the
crossover appeal between the genres. We’re
really excited about how this project is
developing and aim to try and bring the design
industry and the urban art movement together.”
